Happy Shiba Owners

We've received a lot of feedback from our new puppy owners over the years.  Here's some of our recent comments & pictures for you.

If you're one of our new owners and would be willing to share some words to our prospective new owners, please email me.  Thank you!

Here's a video of our puppy Cherry now in her new home. Thanks Patty for sharing this with us!

Jewel (now Kenshi II) and this cat, Phuzzie, are inseperable!  They wrestle like this all the time.  Behind them  is the 'Skeeba free zone' won't be long before she figures out she can easily jump the blockade, or knock it over!  Can't wait to see the next batch of puppies!  I'm starting to think Paladin truely IS a Tokey Mack Daddy, lol!  Is Sally having pups this year?

Here's also a video shared with us.  Thanks so much Karla & Duane!

Oh...I am dying of how adorable these puppies are.  I would love another one.  I got my Barlow (Cherry) from you in Feb 2009, and I love her so much!  She is the absolute best dog. ever.  Everyone who sees her thinks she is so beautiful, and then they are so impressed with her personality.  The comments I get most often are "she looks like a little fox...or even ...is that a fox? (this is when I am walking her on a leash...haha.)  Also, wow, she is so well behaved!  I am at work today, and she comes with me here.  She has so many friends that come in and out of the office, and even has her own chair.  Don't worry, she gets plenty of outdoor time too, she's quite the hunter.
Anyway, I just wanted you to know I absolutely love my little Shiba, and if my situation would allow me to get another, I would come straight to Cherry Creek!
Thanks again!
Andrea

Hi Amy,

I just wanted to let you know that our female Shiba Portia is doing great! She so incredibly smart and has such a distinct personality that is always amusing us.  I believe my husband contacted you last November while I was critically ill in the hospital because it was incredibly difficult to care for her at that time as she was still a puppy, but we have successfully overcome those obstacles I am happy to say, and I am finally able to bond with her in a meaningful way. She is absolutely meant for mountain life and loves the snow and will play outside for hours. We have let her off the leash ever since we have had her and she tends to follow our other dog around and typically will come back when called unless there are deer around to chase!

It's been a great experience working with you and we are very attached to little Portia. Thank you for everything!

Sincerely,
Danielle and Christian

Hello! My name is Amber and my husband, Adam, and I bought a Shiba Inu from you a few years ago and we just LOVE him!! He is such a great addition to our family. We hadn't owned one before and now we would never own any other breed. He is truly special and we couldn't ask for a better dog! We love the way he looks and plays and just his over all manner about him! He is so funny to watch! I just wanted to share that with you and I have attached a family photo I thought you might enjoy. It's got my husband Adam holding Kirby and me holding our daughter, Kenlee.

Sincerely,
Amber

Hi Amy,

When I was looking at names, I chose Yuki because it meant happiness and good fortune and she became my little happiness. She is wonderful and we do things together every single day, whether its going to the beach, the dog park, the state park or just on play dates with her friends. She was housebroken within three weeks, waits very patiently until I give her the command to eat her food and loves to play with other dogs. She's a huge fan of the beach and digs holes all day while we're there. I've gotten nothing but compliments about her and she is growing up to be a great dog. I couldn't be more pleased! Attached are a couple of pictures.

Hi Amy,

I included a couple photos of the Yokester. She is so intelligent and sweet, and definitely the least moody shiba we’ve encountered, which was a personality trait we were worried about. She loves playing with our cats, little kids, other neighborhood dogs and digging, she LOVES digging!  She has never been the instigator of bad or aggressive behavior,  only a total sweetheart.

Hope your family and the shiba’s are well----Sarah

Hi Amy,
Cherry is doing awesome. We changed her name to Mochi. Everyone loves her and she is so smart! Shes only had two accidents in the house
so far but she actually barks to tell me she needs to go potty! I was surprised because since we had her home from the airport, she didn't make one peep. I almost thought she was mute. My cat still doesn't like her but I'm sure they'll get along soon. I'm thinking of signing up for a training class for her soon too so she can socialize more and learn some basic commands. Did you know she already knows how to play fetch? At first she would only bring it inside to her kennel then after a while she starts to bring it back to me. Again, so smart.

Thank you so much for raising such a fine girl!

-Gina

Hi Amy,
How are you? I just want to update you with how Mochi (formerly cherry) is doing. She is very active and loves to play. She always try to play with the cat but the cat chases her around. It's cute to watch though. I've also attached some pictures for you. Her coat is a bright red now.

Wish you and your family well. Take care.

-Gina

Hi Amy,
First I would like to say, Thank You! so much for our wonderful little girl, Maiya!  She is getting so big and has quite the personality.  She loves doing anything outdoors, especially walks through the woods.  She goes everywhere with us and loves sticking her head out the window on car rides.

Thank you again for such a wonderful dog who is very loved!  She loves running around the house with her brother and cuddling in bed at night. Every night before bed she starts the Shiba 500 and Fred is quick to chase her around the house!  They get along great and are best friends.

Feel free to post any pics or parts of the email on your website as we are very happy shiba owners!

Sincerely,

Kaila

Yuki is doing great!  He fluctuates between 25 and 26 pounds.  Loves the snow still and is the friendliest dog ever.  He has really done a lot better with his chewing everything up and we sure love having him in our lives!

Thanks again!

Hi Amy,

Kira is doing really well. She loves to play ball and chase. She absolutely loves other people, kids and even dogs too! She's a favorite visitor at the vet and they all love her there. All three vets at our clinic have told us she's the nicest Shiba they've ever seen. I've included a recent photo of her as well.

Maybe you'll hear from us again in the future for a companion for Kira.
We'll have to wait until she's a little less of a handful herself though!
She's a very energetic puppy!

Hi Amy,

I hope this email finds you doing well.  I wanted to send an update on Kobe for 2010.  Hopefully we can make it on to your "Happy Owners" page. :-)

Kobe spent Christmas with 6 children ranging from ages 2 through 9, and she behaved wonderfully.  We are attributing her great manners to the upbringing that she had with you and your family.  She loves to sunbathe, chase her tail, and surprisingly, SNUGGLE!  We can't wait to see what 2010 will bring for her.  The bow she's wearing was from one of her Christmas presents that she received.

Happy new year!
Linh

Hi Amy:

I just wanted to drop a note to say Happy New Year!  I hope all has been well.  Kobe had a great year last year, and she has definitely grown into a fabulous shiba.  She's so independent, but at the end of the day, she also just wants to curl up with me to go to bed.  We've also figured out what foods work well for her, and she's not a very healthy 15lbs. :-)

Kindest Regards,
Linh

Just thought I would send you a quick picture and update.  We have renamed Susie to Emily or Emmie as the kids like to call her. She is responding very well to her new home. I have her on a schedule and she likes to spend time in the yard with our duck (they play a lot together).  She loved toys and had already learned to fetch and return as well as sit on command.  She is very smart and loving.  I am so glad we picked her!  Warmly, Jacqueline

She is playing with my kids and also with her new friend that comes visit her!

As for Samson, we actually renamed him Gus! He has grown up to be absolutely beautiful and a popular dog around the neighborhood. When we go to the dog park the people don't even know our name, but they know Gus! I have attached some pictures. He really is a great dog. That is why we are still deciding either to stick with a male or try something new and go with a female. We will sleep on it and get back to you tomorrow about our decision. Thanks again for all the advice!

Hi Amy,

Just wanted to let you know that little Teddy has arrived and he is at home safe and sound. We absolutely love him! He is beautiful and definitely has a playful personality! Thank you so much for getting him to us before Christmas, we really appreciate it! Thank you again and hope you have a happy holiday.

Sincerely,
Gabrielle And Sheldon

Hi Amy,

Here is a picture of brother and sister. They play nonstop. Dexter is doing
really well, he loves to eat, goes to the bathroom outside most of the
time, will sit on command and knows many words of which his favorite is
treat. He does have little temper tantrums at times and we are working on
that.  Kathy

He is doing awesome! I love him so much. He's almost potty trained. He knows sit and we always sit before we cross the street. We ended up naming him Zeus. Every Sunday we go to my moms to play with her beagle puppy and they have SO much fun. We go for at least an hour long walk a day so he can get his exercise and fresh air. His favorite thing to do outside is chase leaves. Its so cute.  Sarah

Hi Amy!

I just wanted to update you with the love of our life that we got from you last December! Nala (formerly Snow White I believe) is doing great. We just celebrated her first birthday yesterday.  I have attached some pictures of her first year. Some with her friends (my sisters siberian huskies), with my nephew, curled up in a ball, playing catch with a frisbee, at the Mississippi headwaters, and a few days after we got her from you on Christmas!

She is absolutely wonderful, and we couldn't imagine our life without her. She loves being outside, but is just as content being indoors.  All our friends said she is so calm for being a puppy.  She loves going on walks, but is fine if we don't have time.

Shibas, especially Nala, are so perfect for us. We've had SOOOOOOOO many compliments on her. Everyone thinks she is so beautiful, and ask us about the breed. Thank you so much, we will for sure come to you again when we decide to get another Shiba!

Thanks again,
Jake and Melissa

Hi Amy,
I thought you'd like a little update on Maiya.  She's doing great!! ... She's
such a good girl and so much fun to have around.  I was able to bring her to
work with me today and a co-worker took these pics of her.  As you can see,
she really loves her teddy bear!  :)  She had her first visit to our vet 1 1/2 weeks ago and everyone there fell in love with her.  The dr. said she's absolutely perfect!!

Have a great week-

Thanks!

Amy, we have purchased "Max" (now renamed Yoshi) back in Fall 2005 and we just love him. I was just wondering if we were thinking about buying another brother for him from you if you have some sort of a repeat buyer discount? We can't wait for him to have someone else to play with! Thanks for Yoshi :) We couldn't imagine our lives without him.

Hello and happy new year!
Just wanted to touch base with you and let you know about Saki (violet as a pup)She is doing great and we couldn't thank you enough for such a perfect puppy to have in our home.  Everywhere we go, people want to know what type of dog she is, and comment on how gorgeous she is.
She certainly has quite a love for outdoors and especially the snow.  She begs to go outside all the time and love trying to bury herself in the snow.  She also loves the walks we take her on through the woods.
We'll send a couple pics via e-mail.  And thank you again for such a wonderful addition to our family.

Hi Amy,  :)

Cali and Samson are doing GREAT!  They are so wonderful and I am seeing a different side of Ron, as he is just so happy with both of them and doing things just for them.  They are both getting better with the leash and harness, as they know that means that we are going out for an adventure.  I can't tell you how happy we are with them and I thank you so much for everything.

I hope that everything is going well for you and your family.  2008 has gotten off to a good start.  Cali and Samson are a great addition to our home and now, they are part of the family.

These next photos are stages throughout Maru's 1st year.  Thanks Sachiko for sharing these with us! Maru's grown into a very handsome Shiba!

We picked Maru up in December and here are some photos of him.
He is doing wonderful.  Justin and I work together and we take him to work everyday.
He gets along with my in-laws' dog and they play with each other at the office everyday.

He is very smart and loving.

I hope you and your family are doing well.
I just wanted to let you know how Maru is doing recently.  He will be 8 months old next June and weighs almost 24 lbs now.
He finished his three-month puppy kindergarten class one month ago and now he can get along with most of dogs he meets on the street or at the dog run.

We cannot wait for his first summer.

Here are recent Maru’s photos. He is now almost 10 months old and has grown up to be a beautiful boy.

Take care!

My wife and I are head over heels in love with Oscar.  He is absolutely the most adorable thing we've ever seen.  We picked him up at the airport with no problems whatsoever - quicker and easier than I ever could have imagined.

I wanted to give you a very warm thank you.  You have some amazing shibas and we both feel lucky to now own one.  This whole process has gone so smoothly and we both appreciate you taking the time to answer emails and send pictures.  I will be sure to send you some pictures of Oscar when I get a chance!

Thank you Amy- I can't tell you how happy you've made us both!!!  At some point if we feel Oscar needs a buddy, we will surely be coming back to Cherry Creek Shibas!

Hey Amy!  Just thought I'd give you an update on how Kuma is doing.  We just started to hear Kuma bark, mainly at himself in the mirror haha, or when he wants to go outside to potty (He's so good!). But he is just so playful and sweet.  His favorite toy is probably this stuffed carrot we bought him that squeaks, he likes pulling on the fabric leaves.  Kuma and my other dog Jessie get along fine, even when Kuma tries to bite her tail haha.  Kuma sleeps in my room, and when I take naps after a class he curls up next to my chest and burrows his nose under it.  I just hope I don't roll over! :).  So this is what he's been up to the first week, and he also gets his shots this Friday.

Here's an updated photo of Kuma:

Hi Amy,

I couldn't help myself but to check out your website again.  I just love
looking at pictures of new litters!!

I just wanted to let you know that JJ (originally Louie) is doing great.
He really has grown up in the last 6 months and it has been a joy.  He
loves to play with other dogs which was something that we were worried
about because of the breed.  He is able to stand his ground with any
sized dog, even great danes!!

I really appreciate the fact that you are breeding such lovely animals
and I hope that one day we can purchase another one from you.

I have attached a picture of our happy man!  Just like his dad (Paladin)
and mom (Remi), he smiles for the camera!!

Hope all is well for you.  Things are going great here and Lilly is really growing so fast. She also is turning more cooper colored on her ears and back legs.  She has had her second set shots and will get her third in two weeks. Well everyone loves her here and she loves everyone too.
Will keep and touch and will let you know when she gets spayed this summer.

Hi Amy -

I just wanted to send you some recent pictures of Akina (Princess).  I can't tell you how happy we are with her.  We get tons of compliments everywhere we take her.  She's turned into a local celebrity at the park, and everyone loves her energy and the way she prances around.  Our vet even asked us if her parents were show dogs, because he can already tell that she is going to grow into a great looking Shiba!!

I just thought I'd give you an update on how Tao's doing. He's an absolutely

wonderful dog and we couldn't love him any more. He loves everyone and
everything and he is just a little spitfire. He loves to play and to snuggle
(and to chew) and we love having him around. He's smart as a whip and I could swear he's a miniature person sometimes. We couldn't thank you any more for providing us with such a wonderful puppy! A few photos (it's hard to get him to stand still long enough to take a really good one!) and the proof of his neuter surgery that was done a couple of weeks ago (he came through it like a true champ!) are attached.

Thank you so much,

Thank you so much for raising a smart, loving and devoted puppy.  Cinnamon is so smart and watches over the kids.  She is always by their side when they play outside.  She is very smart and can sit, stay, come, and brings back the ball.  She is also learning how to shake.  Everywhere we go people ask to take her picture.  I feel like she is a celebrity.   I attached some cute pictures for your website.

Thank you,

Kevin, Connie, Alicia and Jayden

Here's an updated photo of Cinnamon at 1 yr of age.  What a beautiful picture!

Hello! I just wanted to check in with you. We are so happy with Neiku! She is sooo sweet, we are amazed! She is probably the best puppy and we are shocked that she came potty trained! When we brought her to the vet we got so many compliments and they took her picture to keep as "the worlds cutest puppy"! Thank you so much she is such a joy!

Hi Amy,

I was SO incredibly excited to meet Sunflower.  She was a total surprise for me (I'm writing this follow-up for my boyfriend since he bought her as a gift for me).  We have since renamed her to MOCHI.  She is such a sweet puppy and a wonderful addition to our home.  We love her!  The pick-up went well and she was exacly what we were hoping for.  =)  We will keep in touch and will let you know when she gets spayed.

Thank you,

Hi Amy,

We just wanted to update you on Kuma and Raiden (Remy and Kenji's pups that we picked up last March). They are wonderful dogs! We get so many compliments on them. They are very friendly and playful. Kuma is looking a lot like Kenji and Raiden looks exactly like Remi. They are the best addition to the family! We love them so much. We hope to look forward to having another one of your future Shiba's added to the family! Thanks for breeding these amazing dogs.

We are very happy with our puppy Sammy and he gets along great with our other pets!  He loves walks and baths.  He likes to take naps in the afternoon on his bed.  He loves to fetch and play with his toys.  He has had all his shots and he loves the dog park alot!  He likes pictures and misses us when we have to go.  He is potty trained now and does very well.  He loves to chase the hose and just have fun!  We love our Shiba Inu!!!

Thought you might like to see what "snow white" has grown into.  She is now known as Bailey.  This is our third Shiba, and every one has had a unique personality. She definitely has a mind of her own.  Bailey is very energetic and has more "catlike" qualities than either of our other shibas have had. We really enjoy her, and may need a young playmate for her.

Thanks again,

Hi Amy -

Ginger has been doing great!  She is making herself at home, and is bonding with our other dog, Turbo.  They race around the house and end up in one ball of fur.  She visited the vet, who gave her a shot that was due, and she has another appointment in three weeks.  We are so happy to have her as part of our family!  My daughter still can't believe Ginger is part of our household every day when she gets up - she is so happy!  Here is a photo of her holding Ginger at the airport just after she arrived.

Take care and thank you,  Dan

update:

Hi Amy -

I thought I would write to let you know Ginger is doing great.  She still gets along great with our other dog, and has become a great companion for our daughter, Ambu.  If you want to find Ginger at night, she is often sleeping at Ambu's feet.  They love to play games together, especially out in the snow.  Ginger loves to get into all sorts of mischief, but she really makes us laugh.

Take Care, Dan
